GMU Garden Club: First Meeting!

Did you know that George Mason University has a vegetable garden and a greenhouse on campus? You can grow potatoes, peppers, herbs, pumpkins, etc. all from scratch right here while you study! I just came back from the first meeting of the garden i…nterns at the Office of Sustainability. Some brilliant ideas were discussed in the meeting such as organizing a farmer’s market on campus to sell the harvest from the garden or donating the vegetables to the families in need in the area.

To support and encourage involvement from students like us, let’s start a student garden club! I am excited to announce the first meeting of the Garden Club.

When? Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Where ? At the Office of Sustainability (on Rivanna Ln between Facilities Administration and Facilities Management)

We will be discussing the Constitution of the club, signing of the founding documents at this meeting. Come and join us! Bring your friends, too. Light refreshments will be served.
